Can I reuse the case and replace the bad drive on my portable USB hard drive?

I have a 80 GB portable (external) USB hard drive. It is an ATA drive. I want to know if I can remove the bad one and purchase a new one and reuse the case - which has an on off switch and wall outlet power supply and is USB cable ready. Can I reuse the case and replace the bad drive on my portable USB hard drive?
Hello,

yes you can do that.

some of the newer dives are more energy efficient and carry a 'green' Label indicating that ability.

You will also have the ability to increase the capacity/number of gigs of storage of the drive.

A great way to reduce reuse and recycle.
